relations between football and "the library card"

In my experience with football I have found out that perseverance is a big part of it. In the article the man is determined to learn how to read, so he preservers through all of his obstacles. He wants it bad enough he doesn’t care what he has to face, but he know he will concur it. This happen with me and football during my junior year of high school.  I didn’t get to get on the field at all that year. But I kept working at my position and I did what needed to be done, and it worked for me. My senior year I became the starting quarterback for my high school. I’m glad I stuck with it and persevered.

  1. Hey Superman :),
Great connection between Richard Wright's struggle to learn to read and what it took to become starting quarterback. I'm curious to know if you think your effort to reach that position was as difficult as Richard Wright's. Yours was obviously more demanding physically, but Wright's was defying the powers that be and putting himself in danger that way. What would you say was the hardest part of becoming the starting quarterback for you?

  2. Whats up superman?
Great connection to the story. I also play football, but I didn't have to work hard to have a starting spot. My high school wasn't big enough to really have to work at something. What was the best part about acheiving your goal and becoming the quarterback?

  3. I liked how you connected the theme of the readings with a specific time you overcame a significant obstacle in your life. Nice job!
