Sean lines up behind the quarterback in pistol formation. As soon as the ball was snapped Sean took his steps and received the ball from the quarterback. He took three steps as he reached the line and was met by a big linebacker. Sean lowered his shoulder and ran the linebacker over. As he did that the linebacker grabbed his ankle and hung on to slow down Sean. The rest of the defense came in and tackled Sean. After only a few seconds the crowd could hear a man screaming and when the defense cleared the pile Sean was left on the ground holding his ankle. When his teammates took him to the side line the trainer had told him that his ankle was broken.

Football article, injuries

The article I found in the New York Times was about head injuries in football. It was published Oct. 21, 2010 so it is a fairly new article. I liked the article because it gave me facts about head injuries in football. It also gave definitions of medical words that had a great deal to do with the article, and the article didn’t assume that its audience knew what the words meant. Over all I liked the article because the detail it gave about the topic and it stuck to the topic.
